Evaluating the sensitivity and influential factors of freeze-thaw erosion in Tibet, China

Freeze‒thaw (FT) erosion has gradually become more severe due to climate warming, and concerns about FT in ecologically fragile areas (e.g., high-altitude high-latitude areas) continues grow. Tibet, located at the Third Pole of Earth, is also a substantial part underlain with seasonally frozen soil subject erosion. Evaluating sensitivity influential factors Tibet warranted manage ecological environment human production activities. In this study, we investigated spatial distribution characteristics based on advanced remote sensing geographic information system (GIS) technologies. To further explore influence each factor erosion, analyzed under condition. Our results showed that annual temperature range most among temperature, precipitation, topography vegetation. addition, introduced coefficient variation (CV) represent stability then used CMIP5 simulation data estimate susceptibility over next 30 years. The CVs central western were higher than those other thus need attention future.
